![]() (I like quite a bit of flex and shading ) I also use the Gillott 303 but it's certainly an advanced nib, it will catch on even the Canson Pro-Layout paper and it's the smoothest thing I have by a mile. My current favorites are pretty much the same: Vintage Esterbrook 357, Hunt 101, Leonardt Principal and Brause EF66. I use several other inks and mediums but these are my usual ones along with gouache+water+gum arabic combinations. If want to get a white ink that will write well on dark paper's i'd recommend McCaffery's new Bright White Penman's Ink I also tend to use color (Bombay) India inks but they will dry quickly. My current no-fuss/general use inks (these are pretty standard), along with whatever Sumi ink I have, are: Higgins Etarnal sometimes gives me problems with feathering on some papers but I mostly use it when I have nothing else around.
